A. BIDMC has just introduced its new HIPAA Web site, available on the General Portal under Employee Resources, Patient Privacy (HIPAA). Currently the Web site includes the following information:

An introduction to HIPAA’s general requirements
Administrative simplification guidelines
Security standards
HIPAA’s Privacy Rule
Definitions of “protected health information” and “business associates”
Contact information for BIDMC’s HIPAA Steering
Committee members and workgroups
Links to other Web resources
A “Contact Us” link for HIPAA-related questions
