BIDMC’s new strategic plan reaffirms our commitment to four “heart and soul” programs – services at the very core of
our reputation as Boston’s exceptionally warm and
caring hospital.

BIDMC board members, trustees and overseers deemed them so essential to our social and community mission that they recently pledged to help support and expand these programs, offsetting sometimes low reimbursement rates.

“It was a natural decision for members of the BIDMC board,” says Joe Fallon, a local real estate developer, president of The Fallon Company, a board member and former patient. “Through the heart and soul programs, we are able to serve Boston, health centers and the people in the community who are so important to us.”

Board member Carol Goldberg brings perspective as a member of the Rabb family, long-time supporters of the medical center and founders of Stop & Shop. “The heart and soul programs tap into the fundamental traditions of the medical center and what is truly important.”
