BIDMC and BID-Needham earned gold stars in a 2005 national overall quality of care survey conducted by Professional Research Consultants, Inc. (PRC), the independent vendor for BIDMC’s patient satisfaction survey.
For the second year in a row, BIDMC’s inpatient cancer/oncology program on Feldberg 7 received PRC’s highest honor, the Top Performer Award, given annually to units that score at or above the 100th percentile in excellence for overall quality of care.
BIDMC also earned eight 5 Star awards for inpatient care, and three 5 Star and a 4 Star in outpatient care. Five Star awards place winners in the top 10 percent among several hundred hospitals nationwide, based on the percentage of patients who rate the area “excellent” for overall quality of care. Four Star Awards place winners in the top 25 percent.
