As a part of your yearly physical exam, ask your primary care physician to screen you for HPV.  It is a simple procedure that involves:

•   Inserting a dacron swab in the anal passageway

•   testing the sample, and seeing if it comes out AIN123 or ASCUS

            This procedure is analogous to cervical papsmears in women.  There are many treatment options for HPV and if you get screened early on you can avoid complications in the future.
