BIDMC Laboratory Accreditation

The clinical laboratories at BIDMC are operated under accreditations issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services  through the CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments). Registration certificates are issued separately for the East and West Campus labs.

We are inspected by a variety of organizations including:
College of American Pathologists (CAP) under their Laboratory Accreditation Program and
Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)

The Blood Banks are also inspected by:
American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and
Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) [Stem Cell] and
American Society for Histocompatiliity and Immunogenetics (ASMI)  [HLA]

Our current CLIA and AABB Certificates of Accreditation are below.

NOTE: Our most recent CAP inspection was conducted on September 26, 2007. Our new certificates are available for printing using the links below.
