Requests for STAT bloods should be placed in a scheduled round. Because rounds are so frequent, this should eliminate the need for paging for STAT bloods. For TIMED tests, place the request in a scheduled round and page the phlebotomist covering your floor for advance notice. Tests that must be drawn sooner than this should be drawn by the physician.
Outpatient phlebotomy services are available at the Lowry Medical Office Building (LMOB) located at 110 Francis Street, Suite 1C, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Outpatient phlebotomy services are located on the East campus Shapiro Clinical Center (CC-104) Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Where should a specimen be sent?
If it is an EMERGENCY, send
it to the Critical Care Laboratory (East Campus)
or the Stat Lab (West Campus).
(Especially critical requests should also be
called to the laboratory.)
