Collection GuidelinesContact the Laboratory prior to procedure to ensure proper specimen processing if protected brush is used for semi-quantitative and anaerobic culture requests. Deliver without delay for optimal recovery of pathogens. Do not refrigerate. Carefully tighten lid of sterile container to prevent leakage and contamination of specimen during transport. Protected brush required for semi-quantitative and anaerobic culture.
