Lea Alhilali from Harvard Medical School worked in the Vascular Surgery Research Laboratory located in the Harvard Institutes of Medicine building. The laboratory is divided into four modules dedicated to molecular biology, tissue culture, biochemistry and histology. Her mentors were Dr. William Quist and Matthew Phaneuf who advised her with her final project, "A Novel Surface for Protein Binding In Prosthetic Vascular Grafts."

Jennifer Cho worked with Dr. Richard Mitchell and Dr. Koichi Shimizu. Jennifer is from Cornell Medical School and her final project was titled, "Characterization of Smooth Muscle Progenitor Cells in Murine Allograft Arteriopathy Lesions."

Joaquim Havens from Harvard Medical School was in Dr. Michael Conte's Laboratory. Dr. Conte's laboratory is located in the Harvard Institutes of Medicine building and is affiliated with Brigham & Women's Hospital. Joaquim's final project was "Gene Transfer to Target Blood Vessel Inflammation by Up-regulating Cyp2j2 in Vascular Endothelial Cells."

Joseph Martinez from University of New Mexico School of Medicine had the opportunity to work with Dr. Bruce Furie and Dr. Barbara Furie in the Hemostatis and Thrombosis laboratory. Joseph's final project was entitled "Intravital Microscopy of Laser-induced Thrombosis in the Evaluation of Small Molecules Identified by Chemical Genetic Analysis of Platelets."

Janis Taube's research project focused on "Function of the Bcl Family Member A1 in the Vessel Wall." Janis is from Tulane University School of Medicine and had the opportunity to work with Dr. Christiane Ferran. Dr. Ferran's laboratory is located at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center's Research North.
