The Infectious Disease/Oncology Dysplasia Clinic offers education, screening and treatment of disorders associated with the human papillomavirus (HPV), the virus that is associated with warts, anogenital precancer (dysplasia) and cancer. Patients at risk for anogenital dysplasia and cancer are those with a history of genital warts, a history of HIV infection or other immunocompromised states, men who have sex with men, and a history of an abnormal anal or cervical Pap smear. Staff include infectious disease physicians, hematologist/oncologists, surgeons, nurses and pathologists.

Services offered include:
  • screening for anogenital human papillomavirus (HPV) infection
  • screening for anal dysplasia by anal Pap smear
  • anal videocolposcopic exam and biopsy to assess for precancerous or cancerous lesions
  • appropriate therapy or referral based on test results
  • follow-up examinations

Patients Appropriate for Referral:
Persons at risk for anogenital dysplasia and cancer who desire screening; persons who have had an abnormal anal Pap smear; persons with genital warts
